Bye, Bye

Unfortunately in the chaos of a really busy semester, this blog has fallen to the wayside. How terrible... The semester is nearly over and what's more the people who maintained it are leaving, too. But, that's how the cookie crumbles. People come and people go...blogs are started, blogs are left.

On the bright side of things, this blog will stay up just a little longer to give you a chance to check out some of the posts and resource links on here. Hope you have fun reminiscing on old times....and getting ideas for new times.

A New Start

What an amazing start to a new semester! There are many new faces around the PH this semester. Thanks to Orientation Week, some of us had the chance to get to know each other. But, what other opportunities are there?

Well, there are the two student pubs that everyone should check out: Alibi and Hoki. Then, there are the parties! XXL is right around the corner. Plus, going to Moki for a good film is a great way to start up a conversation with someone new...that is before or after the film. Not only that, STuFa from all departments offer events thoughout the semester (the BBQ season is just beginning). And sometimes the instructors, too. There's the Macmillan Dictionary workshop coming up on Monday at 11:30 in S 222. And I hear another event is being planned, too. With so much going on, how will I ever find time to study????

Hopefully, you'll make it to one of the events around campus and have a great time meeting people!

What a start

Happy New Year! The new year has started with a bang. There's just so much going on these days that we're going to have to take a little break from the blog. Be sure to check out the latest issue of The Gazette on moopaed under English Department.
Good Luck on the rest of the semester!

Sleep is Good

Although there are a million things to do, be sure to get your sleep. According to an article on Time magazine online, sleep could help you remember things better. Getting sleep after studying can boost your memory and lead to a number of positive consequences. Read through the article for more details. And remember to catch those zzz's.

What are you thankful for?

I am thankful for all of the wonderful resources out there to help me celebrate Thanksgiving at home and in the classroom! Yes, it's the time of year to reflect on the good things we have and take a moment to appreciate them. Here are some fabulous ideas you can bring into the classroom to celebrate this fun (and filling!) American holiday:
Finger Puppet Pilgrim
Crossword Puzzles
Writing Thanks
These are just a few of the many recources out there to help you add Thanksgiving into your lessons.
Happy Thanksgiving!
